Safflower blooms flare orange over a field of oats, broom corn and bronze grains — an entire late-summer harvest, held still at its warmest hour. Poppy pods rise on long stems, dried oregano brings a deep herbal green, and apricot strawflowers glow at the center. This is the one-sided composition of the collection: flat-backed and fan- shaped, made to rest against a wall, on a mantel or a sideboard, where it reads like a small standing landscape.
